I’m SamVoyAg – Agata Voytekhovna Samulska.
I’m a collage artist, illustrator and photographer based in Poznań, Poland.

Most of my collages are inspired by music, literature, films and social issues. When it comes to my style, it’s undoubtedly influenced by constructivism, vintage posters & ads, and by the Polish School of Posters.

Why collage is the technique that dominates throughout my works? At the beginning of my creative path, I asked myself exactly the same question, and I managed to answer it quite smoothly: collage gives me the opportunity to create a completely new, surreal world, from scraps of photos and materials that were initially used to build a realistic picture. And it’s really fascinating when you can construct new surreal worlds from elements of other worlds! I call this phenomenon artistic recycling.

As a photographer, I focus on shadows and contrast, which is the reason why I choose monochrome. My photographs depict seascapes, life by the Baltic Sea, architecture playing with lights and shadows, street moments and concerts. When I capture concerts, I always aim to use chiaroscuro through my black-and-white pictures.
